Crystal P. Vasquez is a Healthcare Executive with a proven track record in driving improvements for academic medical institutions, the pharmaceutical industry, and more recently, the American Hospital Association. Her diverse experience includes hospital operations, patient safety and quality, evidence-based practice, health informatics, sales management, consulting, business and strategy development. Within her varying roles, she has made numerous achievements, some of which include spear-heading a patient logistics department, improving patient safety using health informatics, and process improvement strategies.
Crystal is currently Director of Solutions Innovation at the American Hospital Association. Prior to her current position, she was Director of Operations in the Ambulatory department at the University of Chicago Medicine, and Director of Patient Logistics at the University of Illinois Chicago where she lead process improvement projects, opened call centers, initiated shared decision-making council in ambulatory nursing, and led nursing informatics initiatives. Crystal also worked in the pharmaceutical industry in sales, account management, and consulting where she excelled at business development, and strategy negotiating with the government/private sectors for managed healthcare plans, employer groups, providers, and long-term care pharmacies on interventions, contracts, and program development. In the early years of her career, Crystal developed a passion for Critical Care and Emergency Nursing where she worked as a staff nurse, nurse manager and administrator providing direct patient care, advocating for patients, nurses and serving on committees to improve quality and patient safety.
Crystal P. Vasquez received a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duke University, a Master of Science degree in Health Informatics from the University of Illinois Chicago, a Master of Business Administration from Dominican University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Loyola University. Crystal is a Board Certified Nurse Executive - Advanced (NEA-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
